Tyger or Tyger & Karen's move to Colorado

Tyger & Karen Karpik

Certified Deaf Assistance Dog Tyger

Tyger's duties as a service dog:  Provide emotional support, alert me to my name being called, my phone vibrating, the doorbell, the oven timer, microwave, tea kettle, a door knock, and an alarm clock forgotten to have been turned off.  He provides an awareness of my surroundings from people to noises and things that may go clatter on the street.

Tyger helped himself to an ENTIRE bag of Oreos.  Did not have any ill effects, only a sugar rush for 2 days, he was a tad hyper and had more ideas and wanted to play.  I gave him a lecture that night when I found the evidence and told him cookies are not for dogs, and that he can have doggy biscuits!  He gave me the "I know I was bad" look.  But got plenty of hugs and kisses, anyway.

A few things about Tyger
by Karen Karpik

Ancient but Young
Rusty Red hair
Golden eyes brightly shine.
My partner, my friend, my comrade.
Enjoys life just the way it is.
Spontaneous, yet affectionate, spirit is bright.
My partner, my friend, my comrade
He’s my ears, in my silent world.
True inner being is loved by me.
My comforter.
Always there for me when I need him
Swinging tail, muddy paws, and a kiss. I give a hug and feel safe.
Socks in his mouth standing to say the cookies are done. *ding ding* goes the oven timer.
Loved even when stinky with an unknown prize found in the woods.
Brings birds and chipmunks standing proudly as I tell him to take them outside.
Happy to take a snooze in a college lecture at Ohio State.
Runs free, bounding in a field, full of snow, grass, or mud. Still wanting his hug and kiss.
